Lisa Spayde is a Northern California based fiber artist. Having grown up along the sandy shores of San Diego, she is inspired by her native landscapes of rich golden hills and the ever changing California coast. Lisa uses traditional tapestry techniques, along with foraged and repurposed materials, to create textured weavings.

Spending much of her life searching for a meaningful creative outlet, Lisa tried her hand at everything from painting to jewelry making and knitting, finally stumbling upon her niche when she took her first weaving class four years ago. The textures she was able to create using a myriad of fibers and color palettes fulfilled her inner need to create. Taking classes from a variety of weavers inspired and influenced Lisa greatly to find her own continuously evolving craft.

Lisa teaches beginning weaving classes in Northern California.
